Description: EZwysiwyg is designed for the web designer/master who wants to delegate content management to their client, club or church members, company staff, etc.
EZwysiwyg allows the admin to limit features to users to help maintain consistency on the website. For example, you can offer the type of overkill color pallet found in most wysiwyg editors, or just the site-wide colors you designate - or both!
The secret to safely allowing non-designers the ability to edit a website is in how that person recovers from a mistake. EZwysiwyg can create backups every time it saves an edit, and the user can then review any backup and restore to the backup of their choice.
Unlike most browser-based wysiwyg editors, eZwysiwyg is designed with the end user in mind. It looks, and functions like a desktop application instead of like a server utility to keep the learning curve flat. Things like Open A File and SaveAs are done with dialogs the same way they are in applications. You'll be amazed at how quickly and easily users get oriented and productive.
All browser-based wysiwyg editors use pop-up windows for tools, right? Wrong! EZwysiwyg uses dockable widgets. For example, all font manipulation tools are on the Font Widget, open the widget and dock it to the side of the page, from then on text manipulation is just one click away. Leave the widget open across different pages, it contains font families, sizing, bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, subscript, superscript, AND color and highlight.
You can allow users to edit all of the website, or just specific pages assigned to them. But don't stop there, you can also allow users to edit all of a page, or only parts of a page. You can even let Alice and Cindy edit one part of a page, Bob another part, and all three of them another part. Edit are made right in the page, not in kludgy iframes or textareas. Even tough FireFox does not support inline block editing, we've designed around it's inadequacy.
