Click on the link tool

type in the URL you would like to link to

type in " target="blank following directly after the URL. For example http://www.grouch.com" target="blank

Click on OK

That should do it. Your linked URL will open in a new window.

hi !

thank you for this tip. I really need to have it done in background, so the users who dont even know that html exists can type the url and have this atributte in the link, there is any section on htmlarea.js that can be edited to allow this feature?

best regards

Well, I have little programming knowledge so I don't know how much help I can offer. I can tell you that the link tool is an implementation of a Microsoft instruction object. There is more than one form of that object. One has an option drop-down menu where you can choose the "target". For example: See below

The URL is the linked to address (URL), the Title is what is written when your mouse hovers over the link, and the target is a choice of where you want that link to go (same window, same or new frame, new window).

The shortcut for the common link tool is Ctrl+K. I don't know what the more complete tool shortcut is. Maybe someone having more knowledge can help here.

Hope that helps,

Just add this script to your site and you are done
