Hi,

I am using htmlarea version 2.03. I am trying to save some text contained in tags e.g. "<Save this text>". This text is stored in the database as <Save this text>

However, when this value is assigned to the htmlarea after being retrieved from the DB it doesn't appear (due to it being misinterpretted as a html tag?). Is there any workaround for this? Or is this handled in any later versions of htmlarea?

Thanks,

Tomás

You might have to do some filtering with your software to convert special characters when loading the value from the database. htmlArea 2 has always converted < to < "on load", so it renders as a tag, hiding it, so you can try double encoded when you read the data (turning < into <). It's just an issue with IE's "content editible" functions.
