Copy from word processor to tex area Can't Post

Dear All,
I'm looking for a way to copy a formatted text from a word processor (Word for Windows or Mac) and paste it into the text area in an online form. The problem is that the text looses its formatting (e.g. bold, italics) and “special characters”, such as Greek letters, appears as question marks (“?”). When the form is submitted, these “special characters” are converted to ampersand codes (“” for micron).
My question: Is there any method (javascript, PHP,...) to convert the text in the form and maintain the format and characters as in the word processor?? Perhaps something to convert “on the fly” from the clipboard to HTML? I’ve tried several in line editors, but they didn’t work in this way.

Thank you all, Marcio

I know that Innova has a "Paste from Word" feature, but I'm not sure how it handles special characters.

Dear Theo,

Thank you for the answer. I just checked the Innova features. It perhaps works, but it has two problems. It is not free (I need the script for academic, non-profit use). And it has too many features. There is no need for any formatting tool bars or images. The idea is just copy-paste-send. No in line edition involved.
Thank you again. The search continues... Marcio

Well, any editor can be scaled down features-wise (often there's a config file to adjust which buttons appear). It's harder to make an editor free. ;)

I'll check with Damon, who researched a number of editors, to see if he knows any other with good "Word pasting" features.

Apparently FCK has a paste-from-word feature (and it's free):
