Problems with - Image manager from wei HTMLArea 2.03

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Problems with - Image manager from wei HTMLArea 2.03 Can't Post

I'm running PHP in safe mode and I have problems with making directories.

The directory is created but after that there is an error.

This is the error:
Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object

And that is in the following function:

function num_files($dir)
$total = 0;

$d = @dir($dir);

while (false !== ($entry = $d->read()))
if(substr($entry,0,1) != '.') {

return $total;

Is there a solution to fix this problem..??

I have also errors where the is_file() and is_dir() functions are used.
But with an @ I can hide the warning.

Maybe there is also an explanation for this..??

And another thing the thumbs are created again each time the are viewed. So the cache are not working good.

Hi, marf

Yes, SAFE MODE does make this script go stupid. The script requires to create directories/files (hence, caching and directory creation does not work), a big NO NO in safe mode.

Unfortunately, no solutions as yet. Will inform if solution is found.

Thanks for the reaction.
I hope there will be a solution soon for this problem.

For the people that use Apche and have access to change the config, maybe this is a solution.

There is this setting to turn of the safe mode....
php_admin_value safe_mode 0

If you place this in a "VirtualHost" setting, only for that virtual host the safe mode is turn off.

With <Directory> is it possible to turn it off for only that directory.

I want to experiment with that.
For what do I need to turn off safe mode..??
For the dir where the script is or the dir where the images are..?? Or both.

I have the possibility to turn it off for the whole host, but I don't want to do that for security reasons.

Maybe can someone help me to answer my question...
