How can I set my own defaults at HTMLArea start?

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

How can I set my own defaults at HTMLArea start? Can't Post

For example,default text style is normal. What about if I need the editor starts in BOLD and ITALICS by default?

What do I have to do?

Hello

Checkout the code on line no around 310,

var obj = {
name: txt, // the button name (i.e. 'bold')
element: el, // the UI element (DIV)
enabled: true, // is it enabled?
active: false, // is it pressed?
text: false, // enabled in text mode?
cmd: "textindicator", // the command ID
state: setButtonStatus // for changing state
};

Take a look and see if it works?

Work-around given by the previous post is also fine.

Hi Vinayras!

I forgot to mention that it is for Version 2. It seem that version 2 doesn't have that option. Anyway, thanks for replying. If you have some idea of what to do for Version 2 I will appreciate your help.

Regarding the other workaround in the previous posting I want to apologize for being rude. It often happens to me when I get frustrated. Yes it works for editing options. I used bold and italics as example because I wrongly thought it was easy to understand, but what I really need is to force the editor to start with LiveResize and MultipleSelection enabled and remain always enabled, so I can take rid of the buttons.
