A directory of browser-based WYSIWYG editors

Home: htmlArea 2: htmlArea 2 & 3 archive (read only): htmlArea v2.0:
"Invalid source HTML for this operation"

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

"Invalid source HTML for this operation" Can't Post

Hey All

I'm new to this forum, but i've searched it a bit and found that the bug is most likely caused by a <p> .. </p> tag.

What i'm wondering is will this bug be fixed, or is it fixed already. Since i'm using this software in a publishing tool where i cant control the html that will be used, knowing that it wont work with a <p> tag around it, makes it unsuable for me. I'm still using 2.0

Re: [terje] "Invalid source HTML for this operation" [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Terje:

First. This is not a bug in HTMLArea. This is as MS decided the MSHTML control to work.

The problem with the <P> tag is not with the HTML generated by the editor, but with the HTML in the page where you put your editor.

Once you fixed your page everything will go right.

Don't give up!!
