[PATCH] Various updates and fixes for HTMLArea / CVS-1.59

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

[PATCH] Various updates and fixes for HTMLArea / CVS-1.59 Can't Post

Attached you find my "universal" HTMLArea patch for CVS version 1.59. Everything is explained in the CHANGES.txt files included in the archive:

Various updates and fixes for HTMLArea 3.0 CVS-1.59.
These patches are the work of alot of different persons (found on and Only the a few changes have been made by myself.

If you don't know how to apply the .diff file you can simply copy all files
located in the /files subdirectory into your HTMLArea directory.

List of additions and fixes
- Now works with 3rd-party libs (perhaps also fValidate?) which enhances the prototypes of standard objects (like Array, String, etc.) [htmlarea.js,fullscreen.js,popupdiv.js,popupwin.js,dialog.js,popups/popup.js,popups/fullscreen.js]
- Moved "unprivileged script" warning message on clipboard actions into the en.js file to enable translation. [lang/en.js, lang/de.js, htmlarea.js]
- Added missing/fixed/improved german translation strings [lang/de.js]
- In link popup f_href (the URL) is no required field anymore. This enables user to remove an link if an empty string is entered [popups/link.html, htmlarea.js]
- Fixed a bug which prevented the user to add a link in some special cases [htmlarea.js]
- Fixed fullscreen popup inclusion of "../../htmlarea.js" to work correctly in Internet Explorer [popup/fullscreen.js]
- Fixed fullscreen popup to close if ESC is pressed (like it was intended by author but it didn't work at all) [popup/fullscreen.js]
- Modal dialog now holds focus in Gecko browsers. This also fixes the #884334 bug where dialogs don't react on keyboard input because they don't have the focus. [dialog.js]
- Fixed usage of "config.pageStyle = '@import (...)'" in Gecko based browers [htmlarea.js]
- HTMLArea.prototype.focusEditor() now doesn't throw an error anymore if focus() fails which is the case for FireFox sometimes. [htmlarea.js]
- Fixed bug with Mozilla not beeing able to change cellspacing / cellpadding because of a typo [htmlarea.js]
- Make [Alt Gr]+[..] work for Internet Explorer. This fully disables [Alt]+[1]..[6] to change the headline style. Use [Ctrl]+[1]..[6] instead. [htmlarea.js]

Have fun,

Some of them did it ... others not Unsure

So I prepare a new patch at the moment to fix the current issues with latest CVS version.
