textarea has no properties

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

textarea has no properties Can't Post

In FF, I am getting a error message that says: "textarea has no properties"

In IE I get a warning that _editor_url was not set ... but it loads up anyhow ...

I also get the same warning in FF, but the editor does not load.

My config is pretty simple:

Code
<script type="text/javascript">
_editor_url = "/e/";
_editor_lang = "en";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="htmlarea.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var editor = null;
HTMLArea.onload = function() {
editor = new HTMLArea("smalleditor");
editor.generate();
};
HTMLArea.init();
</script>
... some code ...
<textarea name="smalleditor" id="smalleditor"></textarea>

Re: [agf] textarea has no properties [In reply to] Can't Post

Progress ...

I swapped this in:

Code
<script type="text/javascript" src="htmlarea.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
_editor_url = "/e/";
_editor_lang = "en";
</script>

Instead of ...

Code
<script type="text/javascript">
_editor_url = "/e/";
_editor_lang = "en";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="htmlarea.js"></script>

Now it loads in IE without any error, but it's still dead in the water with FF ... any ideas? No errors in FF either Mad
