split this forum area

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

split this forum area Can't Post

Hi - I do find it confusing and time consuming that V2 and V3 add-ons are mixed up together. If they were not pretty much incompatible it might not matter but this is not the case. Can we have two new forum areas:
  • htmlArea V2 Add-Ons
  • htmlArea V3 Add-Ons

This existing forum area could be closed to new posts and kept for reference as htmlArea Add-Ons (archive)

Absolutely, why this havnt already been done I dont understand.
I even sendt an email to the interactivetools people asking if it would be possible to split this forum, or to atleast open up a new forum for the V3 addons. The result was probably an automated response telling me no support was not given to HTMLArea since it was Open Source, and to seek help by the community in their forums... Duh!

Oh well, probably someone having admin privileges will read this post and in the easter spirit create a new forum.

Creating a new forum is a good idea and we've added one.

I'm curious why you received the response you did to your earlier request. If you still have that response can you forward it to me (with your quoted message at the bottom) so I can follow up on that. My email is dave-at-interactivetools-dot-com.
