get values from asp/php in editor.js

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

get values from asp/php in editor.js Can't Post

Does anyone know how I would go about inserting values (for settings) in the editor.js file using asp or php code?

For example I want to get the default fonts from a database when loading the editor.js file.

PHP runs server-sided and javascript client-sided.So it's no problem at all inserting PHP-variables into editor.js. In fact it works the same way as inserting PHP-coding into any other javascript.Just run your database-query and insert the variables into editor.js in this way:
<?php echo $variable; ?>

I tried this using asp but as soon as I renamed editor.js to editor.asp (and of course changed it in the example.html) the editor produces errors.
