moving empty cells

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

moving empty cells Can't Post

Hi all,

when I create a table, say with 2 rows and 4 columns with a table width of 300 pixels, it produces an empty table where every cells has go the same width. However, as soon as I start typing in the first cells, all the other empty cells in the same row start to shrink, despite the fact that there is still more than enough space in the cell I'm writing in. It is only when I type into the 'shrunken' cells, that they start to 'grow' again.

Test have shown that this is very confusing for users. Is there any way to stop empty cells from 'shrinking' and leave them at their initial width, at least until one cells filled with content needs to 'grow'?

Thanks,

Stefan
