Saving The Source!

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Saving The Source! Can't Post

Ahoy everyone

Congrats to whom ever made this program, Bravo. Nicely done job. Very easy to use and very very helpfull. But besides me being pleased I am also pissed Mad. Jokes I am not. I was just wondering if it is possible to save the sorce from the htmlArea. though it is good I need it to save the source information from the textarea to the database. I was wondering if this was at all possible I am assuming it is I just dunno how to go about doing it. I am using php in a very simple simple form and it works of course like it should but I want the source to show up. I figured if I clicked on the source button and hit submit I would get what I wanted but I did not. If anyone would be kind enough to help me i would be most satisfied :)

<script language="Javascript1.2"><!-- // load htmlarea
_editor_url = ""; // URL to htmlarea files
var win_ie_ver = parseFloat(navigator.appVersion.split("MSIE")[1]);
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Mac') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Windows CE') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (navigator.userAgent.indexOf('Opera') >= 0) { win_ie_ver = 0; }
if (win_ie_ver >= 5.5) {
document.write('<scr' + 'ipt src="' +_editor_url+ 'editor.js"');
document.write(' language="Javascript1.2"></scr' + 'ipt>');
} else { document.write('<scr'+'ipt>function editor_generate() { return false; }</scr'+'ipt>'); }
// --></script>
</head>

<?php if (isset($_GET['productupdate'])): ?>

<form action="<?php echo $_SERVER['PHP_SELF']; ?>" method="post">
<textarea name="yourFieldNameHere" style="width:800; height:150">
</textarea>
<input type="submit" value="SUBMIT" />
</form>
<script language="JavaScript1.2" defer>
editor_generate('yourFieldNameHere');

<?php else: // Default page display

$ID = $_POST['yourFieldNameHere'];
echo ($ID);

// When clicked, this link will load this page with the textareabox
echo '<p><a href="' . $_SERVER['PHP_SELF'] .
'?productupdate=1">Add A Product Know The Value Of The Link!</a></p>';
