Insert Image - "simple" browser

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Insert Image - "simple" browser Can't Post

Whilst the existing image manager mods are all well and good, they're a little too heavy for my application and to be useful they would pose a security risk to my web server.

How about a really simple "browse" button on the insert image dialog that invokes a standard file browser, just like the <input type="file"> HTML form component does?

Has this mod already been done, or does anyone have any suggestions? Otherwise I'll have a go myself.

Do you mean to insert images from local drive?

It's possible, but anyway you'll need some kind of server-side scripting to upload the images, otherwise, the function is worthless.

Image browsing + image uploading + insertion into the editor= any of the image managers already developed.

Maybe you can use one of them, disabling the server browsing option.

Yes, from a local drive, but no need to upload the images since my application is on an intranet and the users all have access to the relevant files.

All I want is the address of the image file, no need for fancy image managers, just a standard file browsing dialog.

Hello All:
Check out the insert image and edit image feature added for HTMLArea 3.0

I think the browse button is "user-need" specific. This will be useful only to those who need image uploading.

Anyway checkout this..
