Luis' editor.zip download

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Luis' editor.zip download Can't Post

Hi - Luis' version of htmlArea works great on pastes from Word on his test page. Unfortunately, the download doesn't clean the same pasted data when run on my local system. I have tried it both from the extracted folder as well as through my local web server. What I am I not doing to cohfigure it correctly? - Neil

Hi neilx:

The version in my zip file is not up-to-date. Attach your editor and I'll integrate the same version I have in my demo for you.

Greetings

Re: [Luis] Luis' editor.zip download [In reply to] Can't Post

Thanks very much!

One question (for next year: -:)

Why do I get an error related to Create link? I can probably fix it, but looks like a rogue // has appeared:

['justifyleft','justifycenter','justifyright','separator'],
['OrderedList','UnOrderedList','Outdent','Indent','separator'],
['forecolor','backcolor','separator'],
['HorizontalRule',
//'Createlink',
'insertlink','InsertImage','InsertTable','htmlmode','separator'],
// ['custom1','custom2','custom3','separator'],

the original had:

['justifyleft','justifycenter','justifyright','separator'],
['OrderedList','UnOrderedList','Outdent','Indent','separator'],
['forecolor','backcolor','separator'],
['HorizontalRule','Createlink','InsertImage','InsertTable','htmlmode','separator'],
// ['custom1','custom2','custom3','separator'],

Happy New Year!

Hi neilx:

It's an error from my part. Since it seemed to me to be the original downoad, I sent you an editor that was already integrated and didn't take care of all the customizable options.

I'll sent you a new file later today.

Greetings

OK. Yes its the original. I prefer to reintegrate my own (minor) changes so I can keep track of what is going on better. - Neil

Re: [Luis] Luis' editor.zip download [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Luis,

I'm an absolutely newbie...
I'm using very basic features from htmlarea and I really appreciated the big effort you did to deliver an editor with cut&paste functionalities from MS-Word (It works great!). I tried to use your editor but I think I have some problem creating link. Infact I'd like the editor write the url exactly as I write it in popup, but in my local system it prepends localhost/"my url". How can I avoid this?
Thanks in advance

Dario

It doesn't sound like you are talking about Luis' Word cleaner. Could you post an example of a link that gets changed please?

Re: [neilx] Luis' editor.zip download [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Neilx,

In attachment my editor.js.

Example (In local system, not yet published):

Into popup window for creating link (backend side of my site) I write: [http://]www.somesite.com

but the url I find in frontend (and, of course, stored in mysql db) is http://localhost/"www.somesite.com".

I'm, not shure, maybe It will work as soon I publish on the web the script (tomorrow) but I'm wondering why
there is one piece more ("localhost")
Hope I've been a little more clear.
Thanks

Dario
