Remove formatting

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Remove formatting Can't Post

I have seen a couple of mods here that include a
Remove Formatting button the cleans up the html and removes formatting such as style and such.

Does anyone have a mod that does this?

Re: [mbourque] Remove formatting [In reply to] Can't Post

1.- Add 'remove' somewhere in the this.toolbar section of editor.js

2.- add this:
"remove": ['RemoveFormat', 'Remove Format in selected text', 'editor_action(this.id)', 'ed_remove.gif'],

to the this.btn.list section of editor.js

3.- Put the attached graphic in your images directory and... you are done!

I added the line and image as instructed but the new icon does not appear in my htmlarea. This is my first attempt at adding an addOn.

Like, I said... my first attempt at modifying the editor. Didn't add remove to this.toolbar. Did that and I'm rockin.
