WEBstationONE -- Anchors and Spellcheck

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

WEBstationONE -- Anchors and Spellcheck Can't Post

Hi all

I just implemented the WEBstationONE version and have three smallish queries I hope someone can help with.

1. When inserting an Anchor point (or bookmark, depending on what you call it) the Anchor image comes up as a broken gif. I've tried a billion different paths-to-the-image in the 'insert_anchor.html' popup but still can't make it work. Am I looking in the wrong place?

2. When linking to an Anchor point I use the Hyperlink popup. However, it always inserts a link that looks something like <a href="[current template name]#x"> when all I want is <a href="#x">. The demo of the WEBstationONE editor does do what I want but I can't see where the difference is between that implementation and mine.

3. The Spellcheck function doesn't appear to be working. Neither is it working on the WEBstationONE demo? Did I miss something? :-)

Cheers all,

Mick

Re: [junglefish] WEBstationONE -- Anchors and Spellcheck [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi junglefish:

1.- The anchor image path is hard-coded.

Search for this line in editor.js and change it to match the path to your images directory:

else {
config.mode = "wysiwyg";
var contents = editor_obj.value;
//You can add markers or glyphs here
contents = contents.replace(/<A NAME=\"(.*?)\"><\/A>/gi, '<img src=\"images/ed_anchor.gif\" id=\"$1\" title=\"Anchor Name\: $1\" name=\"MyAnchorGlyph\">');

2.- Regarding linking to an Anchor, see post number two of the post at http://www.interactivetools.com/forum/gforum.cgi?post=24805

3.- About the spellchecker, you must have ActiveX enabled and Word installed in your computer. To make it work, follow this instructions:
  1. On your browser's toolbar, click on Tools/Internet Options and select the tab labeled as Security.
  2. Select the green icon that reads Trusted Sites and click on the Sites button.
  3. At the prompt of the following window, write http://yourdomain.com in the box labeled as Add this Web site to the zone
  4. Un-check the box that reads Require server verification (https://) for web sites in this zone and click OK
  5. Now, click on the button labeled as Custom Level and, from the next window enable the 5 ActiveX settings

If you keep having problems, don't hesitate contacting me again.

Greetings.

Re: [Luis] WEBstationONE -- Anchors and Spellcheck [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Luis

One down, two to go... :-)

Re: Spellcheck

Yep, that worked fine.

Re: Broken gif

Here's my folder/file structure:

/adminv2/incl/htmlArea/editor.js
/adminv2/incl/htmlArea/images/ed_anchor.gif
/adminv2/news/edit.cfm (the calling template)

I've tried:

images/ed_anchor.gif (which seems to me the right path)
htmlArea/images/ed_anchor.gif
../htmlArea/images/ed_anchor.gif
../incl/htmlArea/images/ed_anchor.gif
and even http://[development environment]/adminv2/incl/htmlArea/images/ed_anchor.gif

and all still result in a broken gif.

Re: Links to Anchor points

I tried commenting out all possible permutations of those 'LB' blocks but I always get the same result <a href="[current template name]#x">. Commenting out the block above that (lines 2201-3) results in an absolute path, as does setting this.RelativePaths to 0 (line 2055).

This thread seems to have gone dry so I'd like to resurrect it. Has anybody else out there had an issue with Anchors, and been able to find a solution?

Mick
