Home: htmlArea 2: htmlArea 2 & 3 archive (read only): htmlArea v2.0 - Add-Ons:
v. 3.0 RC1 and Image Editor ?

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

v. 3.0 RC1 and Image Editor ? Can't Post

Hi everyone !

I've successfully installed HTMLArea 3.0 RC-1, and only afterwards have I discovered Wei's Image Manager and Image Editor (included in HTMLArea Beta).

Can I use the directories "Image Editor" and "Image Manager" (within the "Popups" directory with HTMLArea 3.0 RC-1 ? If not, is it because htmlarea.js has been modified in a way that it does not complies with Image Editor and Image Manager ?

Thanks very much for your help !

Indeed Dominique, I'm also looking for such an implentation. Does anybody know where we could find it ? Or has anybody tried to make it work with RC-1 ?

Thanx for all the developers who have created and maintained HTMLArea.

I've tried it myself, and it's actually quite simple.

Get the latest .zip from WEI (I used, and unpack it.
Now copy the ImageManager and ImageEditor directories from the popups directory to the popups directory in your new RC1 installation. Then copy the two files insert_image.php and insert_image.html from the WEI version to your new popups.
The last thing to do is editing your new editor.js, search for occurrences of 'insert_image.html' and replace them with 'insert_image.php'.
That's all!!
Now it should work like a charm! (at least it does with me)

Greetings, Arjan
