A directory of browser-based WYSIWYG editors

Home: htmlArea 2: htmlArea 2 & 3 archive (read only): htmlArea v2.0:
Adding "target=_blank" to the hyperlink

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Adding "target=_blank" to the hyperlink Can't Post

Hi All,

My first time on this forum - just downloaded verison 2.03 - got it working without any problems.

However, I'd like to get all hyperlinks to open into a new window using 'target=_blank' - can anyone dierct me to the bit of code that generates the link so I can wedge that bit of code in to the <a href> tag...

thanks in advance...

Re: [lins] Adding "target=_blank" to the hyperlink [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi lins:

If you just installed HTMLArea, then you must be using the IE built-in createlink dialog, which is not editable.

If what you need is to add target _blank to all hyperlinks no matter what, use the attached instructions.

If you want to do a custom dialog, then search in the forum for barryhunter's custom dialog that includes the ability to select different targets. If you don't find it, post me back and I'll gladly attach it tomorrow. I have the file in my ofice's computer.

Don't give up!!
