Colors/Links don't Function

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Colors/Links don't Function Can't Post

I first setup htmlArea on my server for production purposes. Works great by the way... Then I uploaded it to my main server, and now I can't get the colors or links to function.

When I switch to the TextEdit mode, the font tags don't even show up. The links don't show up either, yet it changes every link on the page to the one I entered.

Any help or ideas on what's going on would be greatly appreciated.

Thanx

Check that "_editor_url" is set to the same domain as the main server (or use a relative URL). Cross-domain security restrictions don't let a window from one domain interact with a window from another domain.

If that doesn't work see if you can post a sample page with the editor on the live site and we could take a look.

Re: [russ816] Colors/Links don't Function [In reply to] Can't Post

I created a test article and was able to change the foreground color, background color, and add an image on both IE 5.5 or 6.0. Can you give me more details on how to reproduce the problem and I'll try to recreate it on our end? Thanks.

Weel, if you were able to get it to work, it must be on my side then...

I'm using IE 6.0, Windows 2000

I'll keep trying it on this side.

Thankyou very much.

Sure, maybe try clearing your cache, reloading, and/or try IE on another machine if you have one available. If you find what the problem is post and let us know in case anyone else has the same one.

Ok, now I'm not sure why this would matter but...

I changed the _ediotr_url from a absolute url to a relative one.

(im kicking myself over and over)

Thankyou very much for your help.
