HTMLarea doesn't work right

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

HTMLarea doesn't work right Can't Post

I installed HTMLarea in my website. I had made some ASP pages to edit and update news in my website, and now I installed HTMLarea in my edit ASP page. I use an Acces Database. When I login on my website I can see the htmlarea-editor fine, but when i use it and update my website, the text shows just plain HTML tags like:

Code
  <p>Here's a new story</P>

It looks like my database doesn't recognize the html-tags or something. It just puts all the tags like plain text in my database en updates it on my website.... How do I fix this?
I have 4 ASP pages that I work with within my website. Just a common LIST, EDIT, UPDATE and DELETE page.
I'm a real dummy when it comes to ASP and stuff, so please keep it simple.

Re: [maggie] HTMLarea doesn't work right [In reply to] Can't Post

Fixed this problem myself.

Seems that somewhere in my ASP this code was the problem

Code
 Dim value
If Not isNull(rs) Then
value = rs(fieldname)
If Not isNull(value) Then
value = Server.HTMLEncode(value)
Else
value = ""
End If
Else
value = ""
End If
dbField = value
End Function

I took away the 'Server.HTMLEncode'
and now it works fine!!!
