New (or clear) button?

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

New (or clear) button? Can't Post

Hi,
what about a "NEW" or "CLEAR" button? It's sometimes necessary to clear the whole Text you typed...

yours, James.Smile

BTW: HtmlArea is great stuff. I've tried a lot of similar things, but they were all worse...

The easiest way is to use keyboard shortcuts. Type ctrl-A to select "All" and then "delete" to erase everything.

If you know javascript, the other way would be to add a button and write some javascript code to do it. You have to add the button to editor_generate() and add some code for it to editor_action(). If you want to give it a try the easiest would be to copy the code for another function (like the create link button) and have it do something like this instead:

editdoc.body.innerHTML = "";

Hope that helps.
