Locating anchor tags

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Locating anchor tags Can't Post

Version 2.03 has worked out great for us during the last 6 months. We recently discovered that anchor tags are not viewable in both design or code view. Is there a way to find where the anchors are located? Occasionally, there's a need to move or delete an anchor.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks for reading this! Smile

Re: [rfong8] Locating anchor tags [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi rfong8:

The anchor tag is an empty tag. For some strange reason, the editor deletes empty <A> tags. I made a hack to show an anchor image in WYSIWYG mode while keeping the real code in Code Mode. You can see it at my test editor. If it works for you, attach your editor and I'll gladly integrate it for you hopefully next week. (I'm on vacation now).

Greetings

Hi Luis:

Thanks for taking the time to respond to my request. Do I just browse to my htmlArea 2.0 folder and Upload the files as attachments?

Ron

Hi Ron:

What's the problem with the anchors? Everything seems to be working fine.

Greetings

Re: [Luis] Locating anchor tags [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi Luis:

Thanks for looking into this. When we want to edit a page with pre-existing anchors, the anchor image is a broken link. I've tried every absolute or relative URL in line 1687, but nothing works.

Are you able to view the anchor images in maintenance mode?

Ron
