Annoying problem

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

I try to insert ”smiley” text such as ":-)" with insert html but it don’t work as I expect.

Well inserting x nr of the same smiley works fine but if I try to insert another one directly after the first that one is inserted outside the text field. But only in internet explorer in Mozilla everything works fine.Unsure

The essential stuff of the cod is down below.. HELP!

I've had the exact same problem, did you ever get it fixed?

My code is different but I had the same problem:

This is how I insert HTML:
HTMLAreaeditor.insertHTML(param.imgURL);

Now I do this:
HTMLAreaeditor.focusEditor();
HTMLAreaeditor.insertHTML(param.imgURL);

So first set the focus on the editor and then insert the HTML. Works fine now.
