[PLUGIN] : SW_HtmlTidy

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

[PLUGIN] : SW_HtmlTidy Can't Post

Since there was alot of problems using the HTMLTidy plugin originally bundled with the htmlArea V3 I took the liberty to create an own plugin which adresses the problems. The use of this plugin is a little different than the main plugin, but Ill explain.

I would like a button on the toolbar with the option to clean the code - nothing more. This plugin does exactly just that, you press the SW_HtmlTidy symbol at the code is tidyed. Code is tested on both IE and Mozilla.

Installation :
register plugin as you do the others :

HTMLArea.loadPlugin("SW_HtmlTidy");
editor.registerPlugin(SW_HtmlTidy);

If you are looking for the HTMLTidy libraries to use on your windows machine, you can download the tudy.part1&2.rar files and depack this to c:\ and you are set.

Dont forget the config.php file to set the temp folder and path to your installation of HTMLTidy. This plugin is tested both on Windows and Linux with default installation of HtmlTidy.

Re: [kimss] [PLUGIN] : SW_HtmlTidy [In reply to] Can't Post

these would be the correct urls:

window.showModalDialog(_editor_url+"plugins/SW_HtmlTidy/html-tidy-logic.php.ie.php"

window.open(_editor_url+"plugins/SW_HtmlTidy/html-tidy-logic.php.gecko.php"

and in html-tidy-logic.php.ie.php you need a require_once('./html-tidy-config.php');

and the config works great with that for me:
$tidy_url = 'tidy';
$tidy_config_file = 'html-tidy-config.cfg';
$tidy_temp_file = '/tmp/error.delete';
without absolute paths :D
(on a linux-server)

...your icon looks great!!
it could be probalby used for a button that calls the Strg+0-function :D

I'd like to try your plugin, but you've used an archive format that is unusual to me (Linux). I downloaded the rar console program, but cannot get unrar to extract the files - it just keeps printing all its options to the console. It doesn't seem to work like every other archiving program I've used over the years, and I'd rather not spend hours learning it. Can you post the code in a more normal format (zip, tar, etc.)?

Hey!

I am now back from a little business trip, and as mentioned there was some flaws in the code that was posted here... Was abit to quick to post it seemed... Blush

The archive format is also changed to Bzip2 which I would guess most people can read, I also submitted a ZIP version.

Check back the original post (the starting one) - all files are updated. Smile

Re: [kimss] [PLUGIN] : SW_HtmlTidy [In reply to] Can't Post

Hi,

Under IE I have an error on line:
parent.window.dialogArguments.htmltidy_server()

It seems htmltidy_server() and htmltidy_server_set() functions don't exist.

Any Idea ?

Have you got a link to you installation? Im running my plugin on both windows and Linux OS without problems. But I can have a look and check out your Htmlarea if you have a link.

Re: [kimss] [PLUGIN] : SW_HtmlTidy [In reply to] Can't Post

no, it's a local install...

But I have replace:
- window by editor in:
showModalDialog(_editor_url+"plugins/SW_HtmlTidy/html-tidy-logic.php.ie.php",window ,........
- htmltidy_server_set() by setHTML()
- htmltidy_server() by getHTML()

It seems to be ok but as I have only php4.2 the call to proc_open() failed, but I am actually upgrading.

thanx,
chaKal
