Appending HTML to the HTMLArea from an external source

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Appending HTML to the HTMLArea from an external source Can't Post

Hi all,

For various reasons to do w/ our server, i'm attempting to add a different image upload system to HTMLArea. The system loads another page, which allows the user to upload an image & when the form is submitted, it should return the user to the page w/ the HTMLArea, with some generated HTML appended to the value of the text area in the HTMLArea (for anyone curious, this is all done using Struts).

However, when I try this, the HTMLArea renders the text (in HTML form) so it appears it has populated correctly, but then crashes Firefox Unsure.

I wondered if anyone else had tried this and had similar problems? From various tests it appears that the problem is not anything to do with the HTML content of the form, rather to do with something in the generate method.

Thanks!

Hi,

I think this comes by using insertHTML function for
inserting your images.
Try to change your own function in the way _insertImage function in htmlarea works.
