SpellChecker.net and HTMLArea 3.0

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

SpellChecker.net and HTMLArea 3.0 Can't Post

Hi All,

SpellChecker.net offers a robust Spell Checking solution in 14 languages. We have received a lot of requests from HTMLArea 3.0 users who are looking for a robust spell check solution, so we have created this page to explain how to integrate our spellchecker into HTMLArea 3.0:

http://www.spellchecker.net/htmlarea/

Our SpellChecker is priced two ways:

1) Hosted solution: SpellChecker.net engine resides on our server. The cost is $150 per year for up to 10,000 uses.

2) Licensed solution: SpellChecker.net engine resides on your server. The cost is $3,500 (one time fee).

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Re: [JLBianco] SpellChecker.net and HTMLArea 3.0 [In reply to] Can't Post

I noticed that accessing the hosted spellchecker requires cgi programs to be installed on our servers. I assume these are Perl programs, do you have php versions?

The spellchecker does seem to be an interesting alternative for those of us that will probably never get the HTMLArea opensource spellchecker addin to work.

Any chance you would consider a $50 for 5k spellchecks version for us cheap HTML Area users? Can mulltiple web sites use the same hosted spellchecker pool of checks?

Thanks.
Dave

1. Yes, the hosted spellchecker requires CGI programs to be installed on the server. SpellChecker.net offers Perl, PHP, ASP, .NET, Java Servlet, ColdFusion and also binary versions for most platforms.

2. We charge a $150.00 annual fee for our service which includes up to 10,000 Spell Check sessions.

3. Yes, multiple web sites can use the same hosted spellchecker account, but sessions count will be summarized for all those sites.
