htmlarea and music

 The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued. We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3. Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

 htmlarea and music Can't Post
I've found an Open Source project http://www.lilypond.org/web/ to write music, with specially a script lilypond-book to convert directly an html file with lilypond code

\begin{lilypond}
c'4
\end{lilypond}

to this html file with PNG image of music included

Do you think it's possible to use it with htmlarea. It'll be great to music learning or music exchange.

Thanks.

I'm not a specialist, but i'm not sure is it possible to use lilypond with htmlarea, because lilypond is an Unix executable (with cygwin in window) and not a Jscript . Perhaps there is a solution with PHP to run lilypond-book after editing html code with htmlarea (but we can't see result before validate). I'll try to see in this direction (but my knowledge in php is like my english : very bad).

Christophe.

I create the Plugin "NoteServer" to Insert GUIDO Music Notation with htmlarea. If somebody can test it. (sample of GUIDO code : [ do re mi fa sol ]).

Thanks.

 Re: [chris28] htmlarea and music [In reply to] Can't Post
A new version of NoteServer (test,doc and sources) in http://piano-go.chez.tiscali.fr/guido.html

I have a problem with Mozilla Firefox (no problem with ie) :

When i insert link of image :
 Code
   var string = GetGIFURL(gmnstring,zoom,pagenum); // to recup url of image    editor.focusEditor();  editor.insertHTML("<img src=" + string + ">");

Htmlarea is blocked and message "transferring data from adressserver" don't stop.

Could you help me ?

Thanks

Christophe
