htmlArea with 'intellisense' for JavaScript...

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

htmlArea with 'intellisense' for JavaScript... Can't Post

I want to add JavaScript 'intelisense' to htmlArea... but need a little help:

I will figure out the algorithum but first need to be able to identify the last 'word' typed. How is this done with TextRange/bookmarks?

Andy

=======================
Details:

.(dot) will trigger an event that
1) checks the preceding word in an array and colors accordingly.
2) displays all the associated members and attributes of the object
2a) on selection inserts the text after the dot

such that:
document.
becomes something like:
<font>document.location</font>.bac

Maybe only trigger the event with ctrl-space

Also; in a similar fashion I would like to syntax highlight comments // /*...*/
