htmlarea 3 with php on some pages, but not all

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

htmlarea 3 with php on some pages, but not all Can't Post

I have a site that has several areas. I have a single index.php page that loads different pages depending on options selected (links clicked). I wish to use the htmlarea on only some of my pages, but not all. So where do I put the js code? On the index.php or on the individual pages? The individual pages contain the info that goes between the body tags. The HEAD and BODY tags are on the index.php page.

TIA for the help.

I would simply put it in a separate file and let php include it when and where necessary...

Re: [knichel] htmlarea 3 with php on some pages, but not all [In reply to] Can't Post

I currently have

<script type=\"text/javascript\">
HTMLArea.onload = function() {
var homework = new HTMLArea(\"assignment_text\");
homework.generate();
};

in my index.php file. I have 2 textareas I wish to ise HTMLArea with. Each is in a different include file. I tried to change the index.php file to the following, but it did not work. Any help is appreciated.

<script type=\"text/javascript\">
HTMLArea.onload = function() {
var homework = new HTMLArea(\"assignment_text\");
homework.generate();
var statement = new HTMLArea(\"statement_text\");
statement.generate();
};

My body tag looks like...

<BODY BGCOLOR=white onload=\"HTMLArea.replaceALL()\">

TIA,
