File Manager/Image Manger Feature Suggestions

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

File Manager/Image Manger Feature Suggestions Can't Post

Thought I would start a thread for suggested features for the already very useful image manager/file mangers. Here are mine:

1. Move/Rename Files/Folders

2. Restrict access to specific folder within global image/file folder with a php variable so individual clients / members / subscribers can manage / edit their images.

3. Set cookie to remember the last folder visited, so when you launch the image / file manager the next time it will take you back to the folder you were last in, instead of the root folder. Would be very useful if you have a large folder structure and want to build out a gallery fast.

4. Make the inserted images / file have an absolute path instead of a relative one. (Same for icon images in file manager)

5. Make file manager and image manager standalone versions work the same for easy implementation.

Anymore features you people would like? Just keep adding on to this thread.

Maybe some adventurous coders out there could work on some of these and take some of the burden off of the great wei (image manager) and alrashid (file manager).

Maybe when I am done with the MediaHandler version of File Manager, I will tackle some of these requests... time permitting. I think both these plugins are fantastic.
