Can't get Fullscreen.html to work

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Can't get Fullscreen.html to work Can't Post

I get a blank text box when I load up FullScreen.html by clicking the "Enlarge Editor" button on the toolbar.

I have the following directory structure:

/
/ss
/ss/htmlarea
/ss/Admin

I am placing the editor on pages in the /ss/Admin directory, using the following in my <HEAD>:

Code
  <script type="text/javascript">
_editor_url = "../htmlarea";
_editor_lang = "en";
</script>
<script type="text/javascript" src="../htmlarea/htmlarea.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
HTMLArea.loadPlugin("TableOperations");
</script>

Then, somewhere in the body, I am doing this on certain pages to load HTMLArea:

Code
 <script language="JavaScript" defer>
//Creates instance of the editor for the textarea named "details"
var editor1 = new HTMLArea("details");
editor1.registerPlugin(TableOperations);
editor1.generate();
</script>

Everything else seems to work fine with the relative editor_url. What can I do to the FullScreen.html file to get it work?

Re: [lofty] Can't get Fullscreen.html to work [In reply to] Can't Post

I fixed it.

FullScreen.html had this for the script link:

Code
     <script type="text/javascript" src="../htmlarea.js"></script>

This sort of makes sense, since htmlarea.js is one directory above FullScreen.html. However, the code before that sets the base url for the document, which is going to be on whatever page you are loading HTMLArea from, so you need to change the link above to be relative to the directory where your loading page is. In my case, it was:

Code

<script type="text/javascript" src="../htmlarea/htmlarea.js"></script>

Hope that helps someone else.

You could always use this instead:

Code
document.write("<scr" + "ipt type='text/javascript' src='" + _editor_url + "htmlarea.js'></scr" + "ipt>");

That way it'll work for anyone's installation. Just put it in <script></script> tags after _editor_url is set.
