Newbie --> "typeof f.__msh_prevOnSubmit"

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Re: [26196008] Newbie --> "typeof f.__msh_prevOnSubmit" [In reply to] Can't Post

Hello,

I'm again...

I have changed the code "if (textarea.form){...}" to the following:

if (textarea.form) {
// we have a form, on submit get the HTMLArea content and
// update original textarea.
var f = textarea.form;
if (typeof f.onsubmit == "function") {
var funcref = f.onsubmit;
}
f.onsubmit = function() {
editor._textArea.value = editor.getHTML();
if(typeof f.onsubmit == "function")return funcref();
};
}

Now I'm able to perform an onSubmit on my form like this --> onSubmit="return validateForm(this);"

Are there to expect problems with this changes?

Regards
Marc

Can someone with the know-how verify or reject this fix for us?

For me it works fine. I have test it with one or multiple Areas...

I know it works -I am simply experiencing trepidation at this hack & slash solution...
