HTMLarea steals focus

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

HTMLarea steals focus Can't Post

Hi,

I use htmlArea in a big form somewhere half way in the form. The problem is that when you load the form... html area will steal the focus nomather how much I try to give it to the first element of the form. This is a pain, cause the form will scroll to the place where HTML area is instead of just beginning at the begin of the form.

Any solution?

Thanks

Re: [gurk] HTMLarea steals focus [In reply to] Can't Post

Ok I found the solution that gives the focus back to the first element of the form:

switch (this._editMode) {
case "wysiwyg" :
//Removed: this._iframe.contentWindow.focus(); And changed in:
document.forms[0].elements[0];

I would like to see a solution for this also... Gurks solution causes buttons like bold not to work correctly.
