A directory of browser-based WYSIWYG editors

Home: htmlArea 3 (beta): htmlArea 2 & 3 archive (read only): htmlArea v3.0 - Discussion:
what about safari

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Re: [luro22] what about safari [In reply to] Can't Post

Not that soon, since it uses KHTML (pretty fast rendering engine, but slow at Javascript), and I think it does not have a Edit-in-Browser support such as the new betarelease from Mozilla and the IE(win)5.5+/6....

Maybe they do once the new Apple Browser Safari is fully released... But I bet it would need another routine- IT HTMLarea allready works for two browsers, give them a break *smile*... But they are doing such a great job, I bet they will try to get it to work on as many browsers as possible.
...I just hope that this will not end up with a non-free version, since it would make it hard to publish a GPL CMS with a Editor thats not free for commercial use :-/

One thing I am missing @HTMLarea though, is a dhtml right-klick menu like EWE (or even some additional buttons will do...) to delete rows or cells, change borders and img properties...
Well, I can dream, can't I? ;-) If something like this will be added, I will shutup for ever, and never post requests again. *smile*

I dont want to switch to ewe now that mozilla is supportet by HTMLarea 3a!
Dang! Why must there allways be 2 versions with 2 up- and downsides?

Dont underestimate the power of SHIFT+Enter! ;D
