Help! Backslashes problem (FireFox)

The htmlArea 2 & 3 editors have been discontinued.

We've made these forums available as a read-only reference and knowledge-base for people using or developing editors based on htmlArea 2 or 3.

Anyone who is interested in taking over version 2 or 3 is free to do so. All we ask is that you choose a new name that doesn't have "htmlarea" in it to avoid confusion with this site. We'll even give you a link in the directory to make it easier for people to find you. If you are developing or hosting an htmlArea based-editor under a new name, please submit it to our directory.

Help! Backslashes problem (FireFox) Can't Post

Hi there!
Here's what I've been dealing with these last few days.

When creating html code with htmlarea rc-3 in FireFox (MacOS X 10.3) everything looks ok, but when I try to save changes to a file, it adds backslashes before brackets.

For example in this code:

Code
<p align="center">

becomes

Code
<p align=/"center/">

And is therefore not recognized by htmlarea on re-editing or by the browser.

I'm using PHP scripts to read from and write to text files, and htmlarea to edit the file contents.

Any ideas?

Re: [iPassion] Help! Backslashes problem (FireFox) [In reply to] Can't Post

I managed to solve this problem stippig backslashes from my file data using php function "stripslashes($str);"

As usual, writing about a problem in a forum usually opens up new ideas to analyze -- and finally solve the problem! Cool
