As a new HTMLArea user, I am interested to know if there is a plugin that pops-up a display of special characters (prob. Unicode based) for selection and posting back to the form area being edited? Thanks!

Yes. Get the current CVS build of HTMLArea to get it.

I'm still a new user - could you perhaps be a bit more specific here; what is the name of the plugin; how do I activate it; what features does it have.. thanks. I have downloaded what I assume is the latest version of edit.js from: http://www.interactivetools.com/products/htmlarea/download.cgi and although there is an "ed_charmap" button in the images, there does not seem to be a way to activate it on the menu settings? Is the plugin available somewhere else and, if so, where? Thanks.
